08 December 2008

Well, "another year over and what have you done?" Not update my web site that's for sure. It's been a wierd year and I have blogged on myspace about some of what's gone on this year, but haven't kept up with this page and talk of my show. No shows at SixFlags this year due to budget cuts and nothing otherwise special to mention here. I am planning to re-do the site for the new year with new pictures and more, so check back in the next couple of weeks for a brand new site.

Well, rather a lot's happened recently...I got an email from a producer with Jerry Springer wanting me at the last minute for an opening for a special. Couldn't quite make it. Got a phone call asking me to audition for "Last Comic Standing" here in Houston. Auditioned, but wasn't quite what they were looking for. Maybe the third time will be a charm.

International Sword Swallower's Awareness Day is February 28th and in typical local Houston fashion I couldn't get any local media interested in doing a story about it with me being a local sword swallower. Instead, I have jury duty that morning. I was really looking forward to rescheduling. Explaining that it was "International Sword Swallower's Awareness Day" and I am a sword swallower.

"Rare" Houston performances next month.

Happy Groundhog's Day!
I'd like to thank Rolando Diaz and the stundents at UTPB for their hospitality and the great turnout for the show on campus. The students at Odessa High School were great the day before as well. It's always nice to have great crowds to perform for and I certainly did have that in Midland. I look forward to the opportuntity to return.
I also had a great time at my friend Arsene's wedding this past weekend. I got to perform my spoof of his show to a great response from a crowd that got the inside jokes. The Passing Zone & Johnny Fox were also on the bill to perform for Arsene & Joan. Great time had by all. I'll looking thru pictures to upload now. Should be up in a day or so. And should have some new dates confirmed.

22 January 2008

So much for the weekly updates, but it's a new year and I'll try again. Gearing up for shows next week in Odessa, TX at Odessa High School & Univeristy of Texas of the Permian Basin. Returning again to North Central Texas College in March and working out the details for University of St. Thomas in March as well as St Patrick's Day at The Mucky Duck.

In other news, my last marathon was the Austin Marathon in '05 due to a very annoying bout with Achilles Tendonosis. I do however plan on running two 10ks this spring and hopefully finally finding a triathalon that fits my schedule.

Also working on rebuilding two more mini guitars and adding more music to my show.

More soon! ( I promise)

08 October 2007

It's good to be "Back by popular demand". That's what the Fright Fest Promo says, though you might not think it once you see the more subdued outdoor staging compared to last year. Nonetheless, the fans at Six Flags St. Louis are the best. Opening weekend is always what I call "back to school". Learning the schedule, the stage, the environment. Now we see what kind of fun can be had with specialized gags. Several of which have already presented themselves. It's good to have good crowds again after the hot days and light crowds this summer. Getting good feedback on the new guitar routine. October is a whirlwind month for me and I plan to keep up with the news here leading into my APCA showcase in November. Check back weekly for updates.

25 July 2007

At least I can call this one a monthly update...I'm in the middle of some summer shows at Six Flags St. Louis, heading back this weekend. Finally got a bag to bring the tall unicycle with me. New music routine is coming along and inspiring more music in the near future in the show. Some school shows coming up next month at Lee College and then back to St. Louis for Fright Fest at Six Flags. It's been good to return to have shows at the same place and see friends and fans again. October will lead into my showcase at the APCA South Central Conference where I officially premiere my new routine.

12 June 2007

Again, been too long here.

Just got back from my first weekend back at SixFlags STL. Great to see some friends from last year again. I'm on a new stage for me and working out some details there, but it's an excellent opportunity to develope some things I'm working on. The show is starting to go more "high tech" and I don't mean just because I'm using my iPod.

Had some other great shows since my last post here this spring, including great fun at the University of St. Thomas here in Houston, the Houston Grand Prix and Texas Arts & Crafts Fair in Kerrville, to name a few

Looking forward to some great new things this summer and promise to keep you updated here.

26 March 2007

Geez, it's been a while since I've posted anything here. I recently had a great time emceeing a couple of events including St. Patrick's Day at The Mucky Duck here in Houston. I have a show this week at the University of St. Thomas in which I may preview my new music routine. Not sure it's ready but I just may. Still know anything for sure about FrightFest this year but there is talk about bringing me back for some summer shows. If SixFlags is doing well enough at the begining of the season I'm sure I'll be back in October. Meanwhile, trying to get new promo material together and planning for APCA showcase in November.
Here's some video from St. Patrick's Day courtesy of my new myspace friend, Tony Hall
Enjoy!

23 January 2007

Currently excited about a new musical dimension I'll be adding to my show this year. A couple of ideas I've been tossing around are coming together for a cool routine. I plan to officially premiere it at the APCA Regional Conference this fall, but I'll be tweaking it at shows before then. Check back for more details.

03 January 2007

Happy New Year!
A couple of new dates are posted on the schedule. Looking forward to an exciting new year.

10 December 2006

Happy Holidays to everyone!
Finally posted some pics from Fright Fest in St. Louis this year. Didn't have any "real" pictures but I got some decent video captures. Otherwise, winding down the this year and planning for the next. Hope to have confirmation on exciting dates for next year real soon. Till then Happy Holidays and check back soon.

01 November 2006

Finished up Fright Fest in St. Louis last weekend. Thanks again to all my new fans in the area. I hope to add some pics next week, but I didn't take many so if you have some please send them to me and I'll post them for all to see with proper credit.

I did finally ride the Screamin' Eagle Friday night when there were no crowds due to the weather and the deciding game of the World Series. (Congrats Cards!) I also rode the Superman ride which I rode here at Astroworld when it was the Dungeon Drop.

Off to perform at the One World Theatre this Friday in Austin, TX with my friend Arsene and then with my band The Churn at the Austin Celtic Fest Sat & Sun.

Working on fixing the guestbook. Should be back up soon.

19 October 2006

Thanks to all my new fans in St. Louis for the nice comments. Shows at Fright Fest have been great and I hope to have some pics to post soon. Response has been tremendous and everyone at the park has been great to work with, except maybe the ride Nazi. Look for photos soon.

14 September 2006

Thanks to all the students at North Central Texas College I got to visit with this past week after the shows. Good to see some familiar faces back from last semester.

Working on final details for Fright Fest at SixFlags St. Louis next month and hope to have some more school dates confirmed to post soon.

09 July 2006

I will be the halftime show next Sunday at Houston Roller Derby. Roller Derby is catching like wildfire and I'm excited to be a part of it. Though this season is almost over I hope to be back for more next year.

I have posted a new montage video. Apparently it's not working for everyone. I'll be tweaking it and adding more in the next week.

Stay tuned and check myspace for the latest info.

01 April 2006

Happy April Fool's Day! Just haven't had much exciting to post this year yet. I am however working on a segment for a "Believe It or Not " type show that will hopefully make on to a national cable network. More info later.

I also finally have a myspace.com page to leave comments on and maybe just maybe I'll get the blog going soon.

01 February 2006

Finally getting this new site going. I had a great show at North Central Texas College week before last. Thanks to everyone who came out. I look forward to coming back soon. I'll be adding more to this site as I can and constantly changing it up a bit. More dates posting soon as well as other trivial news.
